Wasn’t yesterday Thursday? It feels like the weekend takes forever to get here and flies by once it arrives. We spent the weekend at the cottage (again) as we usually do in the summer. So I thought today I would do a recap of how we spent this weekend.

On Thursday we picked my hubby (my babies’ daddy) up from work and headed out. We of course made a pit stop to do some shopping. My babies are great shoppers especially my mini me! She is always scooping up things for me. She was so cute in Tory Burch as she loaded her arm with handbags and wallets and would run over to me and say “here mommy here”. My girl is a shopper what can I say. (insert proud mommy face) Our stop wasn’t very long just hit up a couple stores and we left with some goodies.

Since it was dinner time and we needed to eat we decided to be the touristy cottagers and stop at Webers for burgers and fries. If you have never eaten at Webers you really are missing out. They have the best burgers and fries and its a fun atmosphere to eat in. There is always a long line of people when you go but the line moves very quickly and the service is great.

Cottage life is really all about family time, relaxing, lots of time spent outdoors splashing in the water, swimming, boating, riding the sea doo’s, playing in the sand and eating lots of food.

Of course with all the water toys we have, my daughter loves the paddle boat. But its fun to watch her “drive” the boat as daddy paddles us around out on the lake. *I married up – he’s a good man*

Lunch time is always a hit when we pack up and make it like a picnic down on the dock. It’s a nice change from the normal lunch time routine at home and the babies love it.

These two cuties are cousins by birth but best friends by choice. The look polar opposite but they are a handful (of fun) together. I love that they have all these memories they are building together at the cottage. Those memories (and lots of pictures) will be with them forever.

The quietest part of my day happens during nap time and it is glorious. A nice cold yummy drink, the hot sun, my beach towel, and the dock. It is my time of sanity! And it helps make my pasty white skin a nice golden colour. The company is usually pretty great too!

Bubbles! What kid doesn’t love bubbles? My babies find so much joy in blowing bubbles or by someone else blowing them for them to catch. We have gone through a lot of bubbles this summer but the giggles, squeals, laughs and memories are worth every penny spent on the bubbles.

I told you one of the parts of cottage life is food and eating well is what we do at the cottage. There is never a shortage of food and by food I mean delicious mouth watering meals, lots of sweets, junk food, cheese, chocolate and don’t forget the beer and vino.

After dinner its time to put all the babies in the bath to wash off all their sand and sun tan lotion from the day. It always turns into a crazy time with water everywhere, lots of laughs and on occasion the husbands join in on the fun making it truly a family affair.                          *Rub a dub dub 4 babies in a tub*

After our freshly bathed, sweet smelling, loveable babies are tucked in their beds for the night and sleeping softly after their busy fun day of playing, its time for the mommies and daddies to have some fun of their own. Some nights that means watching tv and eating chips, some nights its a campfire with yummy s’mores (I’ll have to do a post on yummy s’more recipes), a favourite is our cheese and wine evenings including a cheese and meat platter with a favourite wine. This weekend we chose to play a game (Catch phrase is our game of choice right now) and be daring by trying the new Roulette Doritos. Have you tried these chips?

Sundays we head over to MBC to chapel. I enjoy the variety of teachers they have each week over there. This week was a Pastor/Professor by the name of  Dr. David Earley from Las Vegas Nevada. He brought a great sermon that I found extremely challenging and motivating. (Yes I took a picture while he was teaching)

Since it was raining after chapel we headed into town to the local cafe to get lattes. Seemed like the right thing to do and this girl never turns down a yummy carmel latte.

After so many fun filled busy days of playing and making memories it only seems appropriate to spend the trip home, back to reality, sleeping. *Be still my beating heart this sweet boy melts his mamas heart daily with his sweetness and utter cuteness its just too much*

Well there you have it my babies are now tucked away safely in their beds at home as I type this, sleeping peacefully and my heart is warm knowing that another weekend has flown by but it didn’t get away with out a chance to make lots of memories. Memories that each one will tuck away in our hearts and remember often as we recount the special moments we had at the cottage. Now here we go into a new week. Monday, we can do this and when the week gets tough we just pull out these pictures and remember all the fun we had as a family of 4 at the cottage this weekend.
